colourful kid's back sack

I've patched together variety of colours, but used mainly blue, as it's for boy.

More patches on the handle! ; ) and used RED on the adjuster tape.
I've used a soft cotton knit fabric for the back.
I've machine quilted it with a cotton batting to make it soft and stable.

My brand tag in a very discreet position. ; )

There are gathered pockets on both side of the sack to carry water bottle, etc.

The zipper opens both way, and

I've stitched the tab at both ends so it's easy for kids to open the zipper.

Handy hanger string made with corduroy cotton.

Since it's mainly blue outside, I've used pink inside!
There's one pocket to keep keys, memos, a note to parents, etc.

Now, I don't have a kid model to show you the size, so I've used my mannequin.

H 32cm, W 27cm, D 12cm

back sack pocket

I've managed to make this pocket.
It may need more depth, but since it's for kids, I made it smaller.
I think I'll finish this bag today.
I've been searching for net shops that will send me parts I need to make sweet dog charms yesterday, and I've been staring at the PC screen all day.

kid's back sack and cookie brooch

I'm working on kid's back sack right now on request.
There will be this blue zipper pocket, but I've never made this type of pocket before, so I'm not certain if it works...

I've been playing with clay again! ; )
I made this poodle before, but didn't know what to do with it, but yesterday I put it together with bits of cookies, macaroon, cream and berries.

I haven't glazed it yet, and I don't think I'll glaze the poodle bit.
Maybe just the macaroon.

Oh, but I will glaze this flower and berries.

By the way, please don't eat me! ; )

fabric colour match

Just when I was thinking about making a solid colour Tulip Bag,
I received a very timely request for it!
It seems the purpley brown leather handle is quite popular,
and I have ordered for more.
It should be here sometime next week.
In the mean time, I have matched four different fabrics to the leather.

Black

Dark Brown

Light Brown

Dark Purple

Colours other than black are very subtle and is very hard to decide which one to chose.
But I personally like the Dark Purple fabric to this leather.

I recently bought this FIMO air basics clay.
I wondered how it feels like and how it finishes.

and, this is my model, Mocha. ; )

and this is what I managed to make with it!
It feels so different from the clay I used to use.
It sticks to your finger a lot, quite heavy and hard.

Once I got used to using it, it became easier to handle, and fun!
Now I wait for it to dry, and see what it looks like after I paint it.

smaller tulip bag

This is the smaller version of my Tulip bag.
I've used this beautiful French linen fabric and this dark purple fabric from Morrison.

This is the back side of the bag.
I forgot to put my logo on!!

This is the new leather handle I got last week.
I curved the ends by hand, and treated the back and the edge myself.

This tab is also hand made by me.
I only had brown and black of the already made ones.

A zipper pocket at the front.
I've used 16cm zipper for this smaller version.
The large one has 30cm zipper.

This side pocket has an elastic band, and is useful to store your mobile, i-pod, etc.

This is the back side pocket, and is useful to store parking ticket, travel ID, etc.

The centre zipper is 30cm, and front pocket has  2 pockets inside, and the back pocket has one zipper pocket inside.

Inside the zipper compartment are 4 gathered pockets.

The bag comes with this gorgeous strap hand made by me using the same French linen.
It's length adjustable, and it measures up to 131cm.

The leather handle is 38cm in length, and is about 3mm thick.

Patch Tulip bag finished!

I'm quite happy with this leather handle.
The colour matches with the patch colours of the bag.
It was quite hard cleaning and shaping the leather attachments.

This is the back side.

See the curve I made on the leather attachment?
This was quite time consuming...

Used this beautiful print for the lining! ; )

Patch Tulip bag

I'm working on this new bag.
It's fun working on the patchwork if you get the right colour match,
but it's quite hard work to get it right.

I played with my sewing machine to draw a pattern here, but it's quite hard to see on this picture.
This will be the back side of the bag.

I'm thinking of using this leather for this bag.
May be I'll check with the darker colour before I decide...
