rabbit's room and a hair pin

I made a cottage chic room for the rabbit.

It was such fun creating this tiny room!
No wonder some people get hooked on miniature making.

And I have made my first floral hair pin!

I made it with 1cm squares, and was a bit tricky...

The dress has an antique lace on the hemline.

long neck rabbit and rice cracker

I'm playing with paper mache again,
and made this long neck rabbit.

I painted it so it looks rustic.
I'm still working on it as it takes time to dry even in Australian summer!

In the mean time, I have made these rice cracker with my hubby using left over rice!
You have to dry it in the oven for 20min before frying them.
It's fun to see it blow up in the oil!
We brushed soy sauce on the freshly fried rice cracker
and it smelled like a senbei shop in Japan!

Tsumami Zaiku, Japanese fabric flower

I have made this cute flower using the traditional Japanese technique called
"tsumami zaiku".

Took me about 3 hours to make it!! but it was worth it

I have also made this small version with 2cm squares.

and made it into a cute magnet!
I'm going to make a cute hair pin with it next!

Hand made rustic cabinet top using cardboards

This area desperately needed tidying up.
And I had stock of cardboard at home, so

I made this cute rustic cabinet top!
I wanted to make it into a retro Japanese style, and I hope I achieved it!

This drawer will not fall out as it is supported by the slit on sides.

This cute floral print is a retro Japanese print, which I printed out,
glued onto the cardboard surface, then coated it with wax.

It opens like this as it has a stopper at the back.
Very handy for my husband to drop all his small papers from his pocket in here.

And small tray for my husband's sunny, coins, and point cards.

I'm now working on the bottom bit of the cabinet.

Japanese kimono patched skirt

Just made this colourful skirt from my stock of Japanese silk kimono fabrics.
Most are an antique silk kimono "Meisen".
It is in my Etsy shop now!

It is wide enough to walk in a long stride. (not like kimono)

You can easily remove the elastic from this waist opening
and make it into your own size.
It is now on my Etsy shop

Waxed tote and ipad mini case

I always wanted to wax coat my creation to make it water resistant.
I love the way scratches make white lines on the surface.

I have patched my scrap fabrics together and made this simple tote.

The wax coating makes it look so rustic!  Love it!!

I have used this beautiful purple kimono fabric inside.
I have fused on the quality Japanese interfacing to make it stronger.

This is another waxed item I have made.
It is an ipad mini case!

Look how water resistant it is!

I have used beeswax + linseed oil conbination,
as I read that it is the most traditional way to make fabrics water resistant.
The end product smells of a sweet honey!

You can see them on my Etsy shop!

5Way POP back pack bag on Etsy

I was designing the bag using my PC soft ware
and came up with this POP design, and just couldn't resist making it.

I have hand printed the Japanese word which says;
"(Hey you), the person flying over there"

There's a hidden zipper pocket here.

The back side has a new function added.

You can hang anything from paper, map, jacket, etc through here.

There's these two pockets,

and a zipper pocket which is

connected inside this inner zipper pocket so

Your purse is safely stored in it. but you can take it out easily through the back pocket.

There's also this zipper pocket too.

The bag will open both ways with this wide zipper.

The side pocket is quite deep to store your water bottle,
and it has a water proof lining inside.

There's another pocket behind the pocket, and

you can store your smartphone, etc. here.

Use it as a tote,

messenger

shoulder or

back pack.
The instruction on how to use the strap will be sent with the bag.
