What the hell am I making??

The Hinata Cafe event is near, and I'm making price tags,

faces.....???

hall sign using cardboard

queue posts for the canteen area....
using cardboard

I thought I was making bags and purses with fabric for my stall.

Well, when you have about 40 items all in one room,
you start to loose incentive to make more.
Instead, you start to wonder if any of them will sell or not.
This is the unhealthy timing for me, so I'm occupying my mind by making something else.

Now I'm going to make my own apron!  For the event of course.
With lots of handy pockets to keep my changes.

More purse bags

I have finished organising my display, so I am now making extra bags for my stall.

This is the purse bag made with purple Italian linen and other fabrics.

My friend found out that this back zipper pocket fits iphone and other smart phones!

I have used this beautiful Meisen kimono fabric inside.
I have strengthened the fabric by using 2 layers of interfacing.

This is the second one I made.

They will come with a strap which is length adjustable.

wood effect on cardboard shelf

I found this dark wood effect adhesive sheet at Bunnings, so I covered the cardboard shelf with it.
It looks OK, and it made it a bit more durable.

Today I made another display thing for my stall.

A cardboard box with a hanging board on top!
I covered the box with the same wood effect sheet.

I used the craft board I got from craft shop for this sign board.
I can now hang my small bags here.

I tested it, and it works great!
All I need to do now is to make few more bags for the stall!

Testing my creativity with the cardboard

One important part of having a stall at the market is to organise the display furniture.
I'm not very good at decorating with small objects and unique furniture.
The only thing I can do is to arrange my items in an easy to find manner.

Personally, I hate carrying heavy furniture as I'm a fragile lady (?),
and I have looked everywhere for a light weight, collapsible display furniture.
As I come to realize that it does not exist, I have tested my creativity to it's limit and came up with this display shelf for the iphone cases.

Not too bad huh.
I'm sure there are many other ways, but this is the only idea I came up with.

It looks like this, with a thick cardboard stick supporting the trays.

This is how it looks when dismantled.
I think I should cover it up with something to hide it's "cardboard - ness". ; )

Have you ever felt that the USB sticks you get now a day are too small?
My husband think so and so do I.
Since USB contains data that's important to the user, you really don't want to loose it.
So, I made it very hard for my husband to loose it by making it irresistible!

Yummy sweets on cream cookie!

kimono patched summer tunic

Just finished making this tunic.
I have used antique cotton kimono, tenugui, and other cotton fabrics.
It has a wide neck line, so it should fit most people.

sarrouel pants

There were 2 "tenugui" prints I just could not think of other option than to make the sarrouel pants.

One is with "maneki neko"calling cat?

And the other is "hyottoko and otafuku" traditional Japanese mask of man and woman.

wrap skirts and summer tunic

This is the summer "open" tunic I just made.
I made it using light cotton and linen, so it is very light and cool!

This front fabric is the Japanese tenugui,(traditional hand towel) with a lovely bumboo shoot print. I patched it with the antique Japanese kimono cotton fabrics and linen.

This is a very unique NUNO.
I named it NUNO (meaning "fabric" in Japanese), as it has so many shapes.
It can be a wrap skirt, can be a shawl, can be a dress, and can be a rug.

this is the other side of the NUNO.

This is the long wrap skirt with "daruma" tenugui print.

And this is a simple short length apron.

They will be in my stall at the Hinata Cafe!

stitched and patched iphone cases

I have been making iphone cases and sewing boxes these few weeks,
and again, forgot to update their pictures into this blog.
So here are those pictures!

There are cases for iphone3, 4, and 5 and are all unique.

**

Now here are the line up of this year's sewing boxes!
I named it the "sewing" box, but you can use it as jewelry box, etc.

The first one is with floral embroidery with a bird.

Second one is a "cubism" with stitches.

Third one is with red liberty patches,

And the last one is with purple liberty patches.

They will be in my stall at the Hinata Cafe!

purses and bags!

I just realised that I haven't been updating this blog with my new creations!!
I was busy making bags and purses for the Hinata Cafe.
I'll be making more, but here are those which I've made in the last few weeks.
